Do you need a bearing ball to smoke hookah?

Okay so I was cleaning my hookah the other day and I took out the hose ports and one of the bearing balls fell down the drain. And I started freaking out! So can I use it without one? Or do I need to buy a new one?

If it's from the hose port it won't auto seal. it should still smoke.

If it's from the purge valve it won't smoke because it won't be air tight.

Simple fix though. Go grab a small box of airsoft bb's. I keep some at all times and have replaced all the metal bbs with plastic ones. They are lighter so things smoke better and purge better and don't get stuck open or close.
