What did I see(stupid 20 characters thing!)?

Just a few minutes ago I went outside and saw a bright looking star thing so I got my telescope out and looked at it. When I zoomed in close enough it looked kind of like what a round cell would look like looking through a microscope. But I saw that it had three indents on the edge of it that were spaced nearly symmetrical and one indent was shaped differently than other two. I looked through my binoculars and it seemed to glow green only through them. In case it helps I live in Arizona and it was about 6:10-6:15 when I was observing it. What could it be?

Probably what you were looking at was the planet Venus, as it is the brightest object in the evening sky. It sounds like it was out-of-focus. It should appear like a tiny 8-day-old Moon, slightly past first quarter. It's surface should be perfectly smooth and white, with only the phase being visible.
