Here are some more information for Dichroic Beam:

Using Low voltage and Energy Efficient Accent Lighting
Accent lighting is the reverse of background lighting. It’s used to highlight elements of interior (or sometimes exterior) design, and to make objects and areas of interest in a room stand out so that they become much more of the foreground. It is also used to create a variety of interesting lighting effects.
Accent lighting is essentially focused and specifically directional, which means that different textures and shapes of lighting can be achieved – pools and beams of light can be placed where you want them. Specific areas of rooms that are in shadow from the main lighting can be illuminated in a focused way.
Examples of how accent lighting is often used are lighting around shelves and book cases, lighting for plants, ornaments, and pictures.
The nature of accent lighting means that you may need several sources of light in the room that are likely to be near a specific object or area that is of some importance to you. This means that accent lighting generally needs not to create much heat or require much wattage.
Low voltage halogen dichroic lamps work well for accent lighting because they’re energy efficient, have a long life, they provide a bright, clear and crisp light source, and there’s a good variety of beam angles available making them very versatile.
LED lamps are also very compact so they can fit into some quite inaccessible places, they also don’t give off heat, and they can provide very bright high output and focused beams using low wattage. They also last a long time. For example, 2 watt versions of GU10 LED lights are ideal for accent lighting in a domestic or commercial setting.
Accent lighting fittings and bulbs often have to fit into small spaces without standing out themselves, and as such are available in variety of shapes and sizes to enable you to achieve just the lighting effects you require.

Halogen Lights question?
I currently have four 50 watt 60 deg beam halogens in the ceiling. I have bought some replacements which are 35 watt with 60 deg beam...
The questions are:
note before question....
No i do not want to change my lighting to another type....
Would 20 watt halogen dichroic be equivalent to 50 watts?
Would a 20 watt dicroic give off a 60 deg beam and be as bright as a 35 watt (the ones i have just bought)
Apparently the 35 watt saves 30 percent energy is this claim correct?
when i say
No i do not want to change my lighting to another type....
I am meaning I don't want to change to L.e.d lighting etc...
Regarding the fire hazard comment:
They only cause fires , if they have no fire proofing around them in the ceiling, I have had them for 4 years and nothing gone wrong with them.
I know you don't want to change your lighting, but did you know that they explode and can send hot particles flying that can get up to 2,100 degrees? The fire department wants all halogen lighting to be replaced, so you should do some thinking before continuing with halogen lights.
