A bad credit score means you won't land a cash-handling position?

Is this true? I read in a book yesterday that there are hiring managers who base a candidate’s probability of getting a cash-handling job, such as cashier, by their credit score. The book stated that it is unlikely that someone would be placed in that position, with a drawer full of 20's let say, who had a lot of bills. I couldn't believe this when I read it. Is this true?

Yep, many companies won't hire someone with a bad credit score for any position that handles valuables. (Jewelry, cash, checks, whatever!)
