I have problem in connecting an external hard disk to my PC via USB2. Windows do not recognise the device.?

I have checked from the Control Panel-Device Manger that the USB Controllers and Hubs are working properly.
The external disk is manufactured by Q-Tec (model: 3.5" Harddisk Case USB 2.0) and it does not need a driver to be installed.
In the past it used to work properly. The last time I used iy, it was yesterday at my office computer, where after many efforts I finally succeeded to connect it. It seems impossible to do the same at my home computer. Please help me if you have ever faced a similar problem.

Go to the Q-Tec website and download the drivers for the drive and whatever pc that you have make sure that you have the current bios version running on your pc. Have you tried other usb ports on your system? XP is the one OS that is able to recognize your USB device.
