HID stands for "High Intensity Discharge". Their name came from the intense white light produced by the electrical discharge. The technology of HID lights is different it utilizes automobiles resources more effectively and efficiently. Unlike Halogen or incandescent bulbs, which have filaments and consume more energy? The difference here is instead of heating a filament as stock halogen bulbs do, Xenon HID bulbs creates light by making an arc between two electrodes similar to the energy transfer of lightning. The arc is a result of a mixture of Xenon gases and metallic salts, producing an exceptional bright white beam of light approximately 3x brighter than any halogen light, and amazingly lives 10x longer then halogen lights because there is no filament which could break any time. The market offers Off road xenon lights in a wide variety on the basis of its size and makes like 4 inches, 7 inches and larger sizes based on customized demands. One thing should be kept in mind before ordering to check owner's manual or base of bulb for type of bulb needed. These HID upgraded off-road lights have a special-coated quartz glass bulb capsules that is filled with a high-performance blue Xenon gas mixture to produce an intense white light that approaches the brilliance of HID systems. The powerful dual-filament bulb lets you switch from low beam to high beam producing 4 times more light than conventional headlamps for off-road use only. Lights mount easily to vehicle with included screws or double-sided tape. A research study suggested that road accidents could be reduced significantly, if all cars were equipped with Xenon (HID) headlights. Importantly, the study suggests that Xenon headlights improve vehicle safety, as Xenon headlights provide two to three times as much light on the road, as well as on the sides of the road enabling the driver to see upcoming pedestrians and other roadway hazards, which leads to a greater chance of reducing nighttime accidents. Off road HID About the Author Najeeb safe to replace current halogen headlights with xenon? I have halogen hb3 and h7 bulbs in my dual headlights and as they need replacing I have stumbled upon the idea of getting ice blue lights that are 6500k xenon. as these use different gases I was wondering if they are safe to replace my existing bulbs? they are same wattage but there are higher available would the higher be ok also? now is 55w and higher are 100w.. I dont think i would be interested in blinding everyone but I am curious. I would use same wattage, if it uses more you could overload and damage the wires Dacor Introduces the Distinctive 30" Dual-Fuel Range Thanks for visiting!

The lights I found are 6500k xenon.
6500k is the amount of 'tint' (blue) so where do they stand legally? they ARE white with an effective blue TINT! hmm I read they may not be legal as they were not fitted into the vehicle wit E regulations (enven tho the bulbs themselves are)
