How can I make the resolution on my monitor larger?

I am currently using dual monitors (with a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M graphics card). One monitor is connected by VGA, the other connected by DVI. For some reason I cannot change the resolution of the digital monitor to anything above 1024 x 768, yet the VGA monitor can be changed to 1280 x 1024 without any problem. HELP.

a little more info would be helpful, im assuming that the VGA is a large CRT monitor like a tv and the DVI is a flat-screen. if this is the case then it could be that the flat-screen simply does not support a resolution higher than 1024x768.

CRTs don't have a native resolution as such so they will often support a wide range of resolutions and refresh rates. whereas flat-screens have a set "native" resolution and often will not go above it. Older/cheaper flat-screens can have quite low native resolutions like 1024x768 and there is nothing you can do to go above that.

this is just a guess based on the info u have provided but id say there is a good chance that that is your problem
