How to setup Dual View on a Laptop in Windows XP?

If you have a CRT monitor once you connect it to your laptop how do you setup dual view so that you can use the CRT for a seperate screen and not output the information on the laptop LCD screen.

Well, it depends on the laptop. With mine all I have to do is plug in the second monitor. Then I right click on the desktop and go to properties, then the settings tab, there should be a big dark gray box with 2 smaller light gray boxes in it. If there is only one light gray box, plug in the second monitor and restart the computer. The one on the left should have a 1 in it, the one on the right, a 2 in it. Click on the 2 and there should be a check box on the bottom left side of the window that says "Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor." Check it, hit apply or OK and wait for it to adjust. Then your done.
