What is a TURP ?

A trans-urethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is an operation to remove the parts of your prostate that are pressing on your urethra, to make it easier for you to pass urine. It involves a surgeon inserting a special tube down your urethra, through which a heated wire loop is passed. This wire loop is used to shave off the overgrown areas of your prostate.....

Am I a good candidate for TURP ?

Not everyone who develops an enlarged prostate will need treatment. However, your consultant has recommended a TURP because of your symptoms. A TURP is the most common type of surgery for an enlarged prostate. It will make it easier for you to pass urine and may relieve your other symptoms, although it will not always resolve all of them. If you don’t have treatment, your prostate will continue to grow, which may make your symptoms worse and increases the possibility of problems with your bladder and/or kidneys.....

After a TURP

It's best if you can start moving around as soon as possible. You'll probably be up and about within 24 hours. You may have a drip (intravenous infusion) to replace your body fluids. It will be taken out as soon as you are drinking normally again. It is important to drink plenty of fluids.....

How much would it cost to repair a video camera that doesn't pick up video?

I was an idiot and let my brother borrow my Sony handycam. He must have dropped it or hit it on something because it all worked fine before I gave it to him, and now whenever I turn it on to record it does not display any video, neither through the eyepiece or the pop out viewer. It records sound correctly, just does not pick up or display video. I know that a tube or something must have gotten messed up, does anyone know around how much this would cost to fix? I'm extremely pissed because I know he won't pay for it and it'll probably cost more to fix then the damn thing is worth. Thanks for any help you can give.
I guess that I should add I'm a poor college student who bought this off ebay. I'm not buying a new one. I would if I had the money, but "springing" for a new anything when you're in my shoes isn't possible. Thanks for all the extremely quick responses though. Is it really free to get it checked out? I was sure they'd charge something just to look at it

Most places, including Sony will give you an estimate, some charge for the diagnostic, some do not. So, if you decide to, you can call several repair shops including Sony's and ask if they will do the diagnostic, how much it costs and they will give you the estimate for the cost of the repairs and you can decide. If you do decide to go the estimate route, make sure when you make the calls about repair estimates, one question you should ask if they will give you a written guarantee on the cost of the repair.

I'd say it might be worth it, Sony is usually good with repairs except for one thing bothers me about the nature of the damage.

The fact that you can record sound but can't see through the eyepiece or the screen might indicate that damage was done to both the optical and electornic optical processing parts.

This is just a suggestion but you can buy used Sony Handycams from electronic stores who have checked them out for some very reasonable prices and they usually give a 30 day guarantee.
