Balance

This club has that ever so delicate balance necessary for a hybrid to do more than replace your long irons. Club head awareness is highly evident from a delicate 40yd pitch to a full swing blast-o-matic out of the second cut rough from 200+ yds. That is so rare these days when so many people are simply slapping smaller versions of fairway metal heads onto slightly longer than normal iron shafts and calling them hybrids. This baby has that balance so necessary when trying to multi-task with a club.

Construction

Top notch construction. This one doesn't have that overly abundant amount of offset which forces a draw no matter what the lie. That's really a nice touch. Not only can it get that long iron distance the high-cappers need, but it remains both workable and versatile for the mid-low capper as well. The face is hot, and I found the distance comparable to the Adams Pro--which is possibly the hottest hybrid out there for distance. The radius of the sole offers lots of relief, and is particulary evident in the higher lofted models. (They offer 15-18-21-24-28-and32* models) which is quite an array of clubs. The crown is thin and radically sloped, and it also contains several "radiant ribs" w/in it's construction for dispersion of vibration. The face is plasma welded and uses variable thickness technology. All of this technology works out to easy distance w/lots of feel and workability. What's even better is that the club head is so well constructed and versatile, that the type of overall shot you want (high, medium, low) can be dictated from your shaft selection.

Shaft Selection

Speaking of shaft selection, there is a veritable plethora of excellence to choose from. The OEM shaft is offered in 4 flexes. Lite Regular, Regular, Stiff, and Extra Stiff. The light has a moderate torque rating of 3.2 and comes in at only 70 grams. Reg, Stiff, and X-Stiff all come in at 3.1 Torque and weigh 74,76, and 77 grams respectively. This shaft is well mated to the club and offers a nice medium trajectory, w/out too much danger of a balloon shot. The Optional V2 High Launch offers a higher trajectory due to it's lower kick point and higher Torque Rating (3.6 in Reg, 3.5 in Stiff and X-Stiff). It is offered in Regular, Stiff and X-Stiff Flexes. It still has plenty of heft to it though to help you work it lower if necessarry. It weighs in at 79 Grams Reg, 81 Grams Stiff, and 85 Grams X-Stiff. If you are a real shot maker, and really like a lower to mid trajectory w/your hybrids, you can choose the Graffaloy Red w/it's ultra low 2.1 Torque Rating. It too is offered in Reg., Stiff, and X-Stiff w/respective weights of 74,75,and 77 grams.

Ping has a real winner w/this one, and it plays like a shot maker's dream. Be honest w/yourself about shaft selection, and you can't go wrong. These are superior shaft options, including the under-rated OEM Shaft. For the real purists, you can get a steel shaft put in if that's what you really want.

AIR RIFLE EXPERTS - pellet choice for shooting pigeons at 20-25 yards?

i have a .22 Gamo Shadow Matic gun, which is at about the legal limit for power in the UK, 12 ft/lbs. at the moment the Air Arms 1.037 gram dome-tipped pellets only give a kill with a headshot, and any chest shot will just produce a puff of feathers and they will fly away seemingly unharmed. i hate feeling that they might me wounded and in pain, so are what pellets would you recommend for a clean kill?
answers from personal experience please and if you really know what you're talking about, as the reviews i have found vary hugely, with people with no real knowledge saying different things (like me!)

Use flat nosed pellets.

A few years ago I was eliminating a bunch of pigeons from a warehouse. I'd hit them with pointed pellets, but they'd usually fly off unless I hit a wingbone or the spine. I would see the pellet move a feather or two, or I'd see the pellet exit and hit something behine the hit bird.

Then I used flat nosed pellets, and just about every bird dropped on the first hit.
