Knowing More about Yeast Infection
Thrush is probably the most commonly found type of yeast infection known today. Inspiring mostly the genital organs of females, this form of candidiasis has been rarely known to affect men. But other than thrush, most yeast infections are not limited to gender and can be found inspiring various parts of the body.
You will find the infections are usually localized in a certain area of mucous-like membrane or skin, which are caused by a fungus called Candida. This is obvious in laboratory cultured plates by their rather large round colonies, which are usually coloured cream, white, or whitish-gray. The most notable species that causes yeast infection in humans is the Candida albicans, though this isn't the sole culprit.
This particular fungus prospers among other flora that are found in our bodies, and certain other bacteria in our bodies keeps this in balance. It just likes to dwell within dark, wet, and warm areas in our bodies. This is why most occurrences of yeast infection can be found around the areas of the mouth, blood, ears, gastrointestinal regions, and in the genital areas. Given a chance, it might breed and proliferate on the human skin, particularly in the skin folds, armpits, and other areas that incur sweat and which are kept hot.
Candida albicans typically starts forming in single oval cells. In this form, it can copy itself thru a process called budding. This makes them produce genetic clones of the parent cell and replicates by producing bubbles that grow out of the opening cell. They then attach themselves to the parent cells momentarily before they eventually separate.
The main cause of taking on a yeast infection is when the pH level and the body's temperature are not in balance. These two factors will permit growth of the fungus and its bacterial partner to go undisturbed along the other flora in the body. But when the two factors change, the environment won't be appropriate to the bacteria anymore and will kill them.
Symptoms an individual will experience when there is presence of yeast infection are burning and itchiness sensations, together with soreness or tingling. When this occurs, do not scratch the infected areas. This may only lead to skyrocketing the expansion of this fungus.
Yeast infections should not be treated trivially, as they can be serious and sometimes be lethal. This is particularly true for folks who are weak or have underdeveloped immunological systems, HIV, diabetes, and aids [*T]. Try to find immediate medical assistance if you have incurred such a difficulty.

I need the function for these biology laboratory equipment ....?
hot plate, inoculating loop, Erlenmeyer or Florence flask, test tube holder, beaker tongs, depression slide, or dissecting microscope
hot plate - heating things, usually a flask or beaker
inoculating loop - Inoculating loops are used to transfer microorganisms to growth media or for staining slides.
Erlenmeyer or Florence flask - carrying container of liquids
Test Tube Holder - holds test tubes
Beaker Tongs - used to hold and transfer beaker - especially when beaker is heated
Depression slide - Depression slides have an indentation in the center to hold a drop of liquid, cost considerably more than the flat variety, and are usually used without a cover slip.
Dissecting Microscope - A dissecting microscope is a microscope of a design which facilitates the magnification and examination of three dimensional objects, rather than samples prepared on slides. As the name implies, dissecting microscopes are commonly used in the dissection of specimens, but they have a range of other functions as well. Many scientific supply companies sell this style of microscope at varying levels of quality, and it is also possible to order them directly from manufacturers.
