Focus Like a Laser Beam Until you Get What you Want

If you are committed to your goals, you definitely should do this.

Today, if your goal is to become an internet millionaire, then you have to decide which method you are going to use. You can choose to make your fortune in affiliate marketing, online auction, online investment, pay-per-click campaign and many more. Many people switch from one method to another, which is the reason that they cannot make any money in the end of the day. Let me give you an example here. Just assume that your goal is to make one million dollar from the net. The first day you start with online auction, because it seems that online auction is where your interest lies. After a few days of trying, you are not making any money from it.

So what did you do after that? You start losing your focus. You heard your friend telling you that affiliate marketing is the best way to go. So you jump in straight into affiliate marketing and leave your online auction business aside. Now, the effort and energy that you’ve put in online auction has been wasted. A few months past by, you still are not making any money from affiliate marketing. Then you tell yourself affiliate marketing is not where you should be. Next, you try to build a pay-per-click business just like Google Adsense. Again, the effort and time that you spent in affiliate marketing is wasted since you’ve abandoned it. This goes on and on. One year past by and you achieve nothing in the end.

I believe that the example above shows you the importance of having concentration in your goals. Do you think that Donald Trump or Tiger Woods achieve their amazing results in just a matter of months? That will be impossible. Everything needs time to develop, the same goes for your goals. You have to put in time and effort for them to come true. Therefore, you must put in 100 percent focus in your goals until you reach it, just like a laser beam.

Is it possible to calculate the temperature of a LASER beam based on wattage and wavelength, given a distance?

I want to build a LASER cutter, and am trying to figure out how powerful a LASER I need. The ones I've seen on MAKE and Instructables seem to indicate a 30 watt diode, however, say nothing regarding wavelength.

Temperature is a measure of how fast particles are vibrating. Since a laser beam itself is not made up of particles, the concept of the temperature of the beam is in itself nonseniscal.

That said, the temperature rise a laser beam can produce in a solid(or liquid or gas) that it hits will primarily be dependant on the wattage of the laser, ie how much power is stored in the beam itself. But a general rule of thumb is the shorter the wavelength (towards the microwave end of the spectrum) the more energy the beam can carry. The wavelength choices you will have will be somewhat limited as well if you are planning on using a diode laser, as only certain frequencies can be accurately made using semiconductor diodes.

30 watt seems extremely high for a laser diode, considering 120 MILLIwatt is typically enough power for a laser diode to produce a beam which can burn through paper. I dont know how you would keep the diode cool putting this much power into it, and of course you would be chewing through a fair bit of electricity.
