About the Author About GAO Instruments lasers red helium neon laser????? okay we had to do lab and in dis lab we basically just had to find the wavelength of red and green using filters. I need to no how using lasers or LEDs would make this lab more accurate than the colour filter experiemnt p.s.young's double slit light interference thanx for the help!!!!
Both "red" and "green" are fuzzy terms describing many wavelengths of light (and also combinations of wavelengths). I don't know the design or goal of your experiment, so I can't get terribly detailed. Lasers and LEDs both can emit monochromatic light, which you can measure more precisely than the mixed wavelengths you apparently used. I suspect that's what they're referring to, but it's worded badly. A monochromatic source is easier to measure precisely, but you'd be measuring a different light with different equipment - it wouldn't make it any easier to measure the non-monochromatic light source you apparently used. You can use single slit patterns as well as double slit, but all interference patterns smear out when you have multiple wavelengths. You could also use some version of interferometry (split-path interference) to determine wavelength, rather than a slit. If - and I hope this isn't the case - you're trying to define what wavelengths look "red" or "green", LEDs or lasers won't help a bit. A ruler accurate to the nearest micron won't help you determine "tall" more accurately than one only accurate to a quarter inch. High-Speed Scanner Reads 200 Pages per Minute Thanks for visiting!
