How One Microscopic Bacteria Can Boost Your Immunity And Aid In Digestion
Lactobacillus casei (or l.casei for short) is probably one of the most common strains of bacteria that you will find in your probiotics. This strain (like many others) makes it’s home in your mouth and gastrointestinal tract (gut) like the other two strains I talked about above.
L.casei boosts your immunity and aids in digestion as well.
This is one of the easier strains of bacteria to get naturally, because it occurs naturally in yogurt, milk, and many fermented products. It’s the most commonly used strain of bacteria in probiotics, so if you find a food enhanced with probiotics, l.casei is likely to be what it was enhanced with.
Things You Should Be Looking For in Your Probiotic
When you go to buy a probiotic, the first thing you want to do is check the label to see if it has any one of these three strains in it. You’re likely to find at least one of them in your probiotic. If you don’t a warning flag should go off in your head.
Another thing that you should be wary of is the amount of probiotics in your probiotic. When you take probiotics orally, the bacteria have to pass through the really harsh environment that is your stomach. A lot of the bacteria will die before they make it to your gut, where they live.
So, to make sure the probiotics that you are taking make it to your stomach, you need to make sure that there are at least 100 million, but preferably 1 billion CFU’s of bacteria in your probiotic. Any less than that, and it is certain that the probiotics you just took won’t even make it to the place where they are supposed to go.
One More Thing
If you’re worried about having to find a probiotic that meets all those requirements, don’t fret. I’ve done all the work for you and managed to find a high quality probiotic that you can try for free and see if it’s the one for you. Click here to try a high quality probiotic for free.
About the Author
Hey there, my name is John, and I really like talking about probiotics, and alternative health in general. I used to take a bunch of medication and get sick fairly often, but after I realized there were many natural remedies and preventative measures I could use to stay healthy, I immediately chose those over medicine.
Looking through a microscope all day; back in intense pain now?
I've been doing a lot of microscopy these past two weeks. I know the ergonomically correct position to be in (sitting, microscope positioned in such a way that I don't have to bend awkwardly to look through the oculars) but even so my lower back has been in intense pain these past couple days. It is very concerning to me, because I've never had constant, deep pain like this in my lower back.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for this? I don't want to cause my back permanent damage. It's hard to believe that the pain I feel in my lower back could be just due to the microscopy work but I can't think of anything else I've been doing.
get up & gentle stretch your back every couple of hours move the muscles
