I've actually had the best results with an analog camera. Then use a video capture card to record digital images if you need them. The resolution is only 640 by 480, but that's ok for a lot of purposes. With some digital cameras I've seen on microscopes, they have high resolution and picture quality, but they're blurry when trying to view them real time (moving).
