Will movies eventualy transition from DVD's to Memory cards?

As flash memory card's storage capacity grows and becomes cheaper in the future, will the movie industry eventually transition away from DVD's to Memory cards ie SanDisk? Imagine the portability scale that movies on SanDisk cards would provide. I imagine that TV's would come equipped with card readers and surround sound outputs that would do away with all the bulky audio/video components, that we now use, and take up so much space. No more portable DVD players, rather all in one phones or mp3 players capable of reading movies stored on memory cards. Is this technology far away or just around the corner?

I think that its unlikely.. I think its going to skip over memory cards entirely, and will just become download on demand. Take a look at Time Warner's "On Demand" for a lot of programs- they have tons of drives with the programs on them, and when someone selects something on demand, it pipes down over their cable line instantly. Take a look at Netflix- they have a lot of movies you can watch over the Internet on demand, instantly. So I am pretty sure DVD's will be going away, but they wont be replaced by memory cards, or anythign else physical- instead it will all be "On Demand".
