my oven is broken, so we had to order a turkey. we asked for 15 lbs, but the scale says 7lbs. were we screwed?

does a turkey weigh less after it's been cooked? were we screwed over by this place? it definitely doesn't look like a 15 pound turkey. i put it on a postage scale and it says 7 pounds!
