Here are some more information for Pressure Steam:

âthe Steam Kettle Rocketâ
Paying attention to simple techniques in physics in using simple ideas, such as the steam engine we could venture further into outer regions of our Universe without difficulties. Water tanks made of thick heavy-duty titanium steel that would withstand enormous pressure, attaché nozzles to them, filed them up with water to the ream of the nozzle, and freeze it. Attaché a control valve at the end of each nozzle to control the released heated pressure once heat is applied.
Take these tanks attach them, to rockets sent into space and stored them at the International Space Station for future use. Keeping them in orbit around the Earth, you could use them as the propellant fuel for travel to Mars and beyond.
These tanks attached to a spacecraft and properly controling the releasing of the steam pressure will control the speed of the spacecraft while in flight. Once the spacecraft is in motion in space it will continue its journey until stopped. In a trip to Mars, the tanks could be refill with water found in the planet, preferably sea water or salty water,freezing it to use on the return trip to Earth.
In theory, a cluster of these tanks filed with frozen water could remain in orbit attaché to the space station for future strips to the outer regions in space. Use of these tanks could be an inexpensive means of propellant fuel for future space travel.
The next step would be a simple matter of getting the Astronauts and a spacecraft like our space shuttle out in orbit. Attaching these tanks as a means of propellant to the space shuttle and in theory could propel the space shuttle on a journey to any region in space. This propellant could replace the dangerous and expensive ones used today.
During my research while conducting my experiments, I made several small workable samples of a steams engine. The first one was a small steam kettle where I attached a small gage to give me readings of the pressure inside the kettle. I then attached a small variable control valve at the end of the nozzle. I filled the kettle with water and placed it in the freezer overnight.
The following day I connected the kettle with the frozen water to a roller skate with four little wheels. I then began applying heat to the kettle with a burning torch. Watching the gage for the proper reading, when I saw the kettle starting to shake and to inflate like a balloon. Afraid that it was going to blow up I stopped applying heat.
I then carefully started opening slowly the valves. As I did, the kettle began to move in the opposite direction from where the steam was escaping. The more I opened the valve the faster the kettle moved forward. Showing the same principle would workto a spacecraft in space.
The second experiment I did the same, but with one exception I made the kettle much stronger able to withstand more pressure. In doing so I got the same results as the first but much more potent in pressure. The gage read a greater pressure double the pressure from the first.
In converting, the frozen water into steam the first kettle almost began to break apart, while the second held tight with no signs of stress in being stronger and thicker.
Further experiment showed that when using water with a high concentration of salt caused the water to boil hotter with more pressure. Seawater can be used and it is in great abundance through out the World. More likely also in other planets as well;
This experimen showed space travel to be less expensive,reliable, and feasible in reducing the time of getting spacecraft into further regions of the Universe.

how to calculate max.permissible steam pressure from the following data?
A boiler shell 2000 mm inside dia is made of 20 mm thick plates and the longitudinal joint has an efficiency of 85%. Calculate the max. permissible steam pressure, If the tensile stress is not exceed 800 Kg/Sq.cm
Here's how I'd solve the problem.
Divide the vessel into two hemispheres, a left half and a right half.
Figure out the forces acting on one of the hemispheres, say the right-hand one:
1. The pressure from the gas pushes the right hemisphere to the right. Total force is the horizontal component of the (pressure x area), or
Force_right = pressure x (pi x dia^2 / 4)
2. The left hemisphere that it is attached to pulls the right hemisphere to the left. This force is
Force_left = (tensile stress) x (cross-sectional area)
where
(cross-sectional area) = (pi/4) x (OD^2 - ID^2),
ID = inner diameter = 2000 mm
OD = outer diameter = ID + 2*20mm
Now equate the two forces, Force_left and Force_right, and solve for pressure.
Hope that helps.
