Suggestions for my first semi automatic car?

Would love to own a semi automatic transmission car, but don't know where to look for one, or what brand, type, etc. VERY INTRIGUED- suggestions for cars, suvs, trucks, websites to start research, etc.

could you elaborate on what you mean by semi automatic car?
you mean like something with triptronic? (manual tranny without an automatic clutch)

UPDATE:

ok, so triptronic (title of the porsche system, first of this kinda to hit the market). i have little experience with them, and what i have driven i was VERY unimpressed. if you want the feel of changing gears and really controlling the vehicle, you need that clutch. period.
as far as performance, they are terrible. the shift time is extremely slow, you are usually better off leaving it in auto because it will (usually) end up shifting faster. it is not smoth at all because without the clutch you cant control the engage/disengage pressure, so its like like dumping the clutch everytime you shift.....veeeeeery slowely.
it wont take long before you put the car in D and leave it there. it sounds like fun, but it looses its charm very very quickly.
get a manual or stick with automatic, youll be disappointed.
