i need to know how long to steam sterilize tattoo equipment?

i don't have an autoclave i have an older table top american sterilizer co machine. It looks to be from the early to mid 90's its in good condition and appears to work it holds steam in and it does get extreamly hot. From what i was told when i bought it. it was made for tattoo equipmet for shops. it has a tray that gets lowered into the distilled water and the unit fills with steam. i just need to know how long to run it before i open it up. it came with no instructions please help. I do have color change bags put i was told opening the machine before its done can mess up the process

If this is what I think it is...the kind that is round and looks like a home food canner, these are not appropriate for the tattoo industry. One of the problems with this is that it does not have a drying cycle so it is basically worthless. You have to watch it continuously to be sure it stays at the correct temp and time. The basket cannot get any water in it so you have to be sure it is the right amount of water. Too many variables.

As far as the color change bags, they only tell you if the bag has been exposed to heat. It does not indicate sterility. In fact, you can put them on your dash board in the sun and they will change color.
