Must one have a "Hood Vent" system with a gas burning stove top range?

Or does one need any type of venting system with a gas range top? We have an electric one now and no ventalation system.

You absolutely need a venting system when using a gas stove. The gases need to be vented outside...to not do so would be very dangerous. In most areas, venting is required by law. Of course if you were my exboss you wouldn't need one, cause you would just continually suck!
